HNL does shut down after the AC flights a little past midnight. The security guards (or TSA) will kick you out. However, you are welcomed to sleep on the benches near the curb (e.g., there's one between the inter-island terminal and the domestic one).
Any chance you could use Island Air scheduling to get out that same evening?
