Elite members "insulted" in PHL

In one of my worst travel experiences in 6+ years of traveling, the NWA staff insulted all the elite members in my NWA1781 flight (PHL-DTW).

As stated in a seperate thread, our plane was almost 2 hours late, and the flight was "overbooked". So many people were tired and upset already, and then....

First class boarded.
And then exit rows were called.
Then the "last" rows were called.

Many people asked about elite boarding, claiming to be gold or platinum. The agent said "no one is elite today", and "you'll have to board just like everyone else". Many people started to complain saying it was a privledge. The guy next to me holding a Platinum card.

She shouted back "if any more elite members complain, they will be boarding last after everyone else". People were gasping and spouting general insults back. It got more ugly if you read my other posts I made today.

Can the gate agent just "waive" this pre-boarding privelidge? I am wondering if I should complain to NWA or not.

And can she make you board "last" for complaining?
