My companion just used his points to book us 4 nights in Rio at the Sheraton Rio Towers on 121 Ave Neimeyer in Leblon area. I just realized it is about 7 miles away from the action of the center of Rio de Janeiro.

I took a took at the Sheraton website and they also have a property in Copacabana call Le Meridien Hotel on 1020 Ave Atlantica.

Can anyone give us advise on which property we should stay in?

We like the Sheraton for their semi private beach and hotel amenities. But we also like to be close to the all the action of Rio as in shopping, dining, clubbing etc.

Maybe staying at the Sheraton Towers 7 miles away is not bad if we take a cab to the center.

Any advise?
