IC Branding
I recently stayed at the Crown Plaza in Natick, MA. $200/night. The bed was comfy. The A/C sounded like a GE90 (777 turbine) so I had to change rooms (note, I didn't get double charged this time). Both rooms seriously needed to be fixed up.....old old old bathroom, furniture just dead old and ugly. It got me thinking that Crown Plaza's are their upper level hotel and this room was not much better than some Holiday Inn Expresses.
I filled out the online survey. I haven't heard anything back.
I just used 25k points to stay at the Crown Plaza in Antwerp, Belgium. Small room. *seriously* needed to be updated in every regard. This room was definitely worse than a Holiday Inn Express. There was no internet service at all. No wired, no wireless.....at all. The front desk told me I had to use dial up. I did at 0.50 Euro/minute. So now I am thinking why I just used all those points for a very crappy hotel and ended up paying 45 Euro on dialup as I had a big file to d/l after my flight. The next night that my company was covering, I switched to an Ibis (I Belong In Sheraton) which was barebones and charged 20 euro for wireless but at least they had it.
First off, what's the best way to give them my 0.02 Euro (worth more than USD) to them.
Second, I'm close to completely switching to Marriott as at least their hotels are branded correctly and a courtyard is a courtyard is a courtyard and the same for full blown Marriotts and Residence Inns (for the most part).
