Technically, there is a weight limit posted (same with even the smallest of compartments) but the general rule is that, given the volume, a bin will fill up before it's weight is exceeded. I seem to recall 90 lbs for a 737. Keep in mind that it's not really stating the absolute carrying capacity of each bin/compartment but, more accurately, making sure the combined total does not exceed the A/C weight and balance.
