I needed a ticket Bangkok/Sydney/Bangkok... most discounted business class fares are over 80,000 Thai baht roundtrip ($2,000+)... many travel agencies sell business class on Phillipine Airlines for around 70,000 baht, but Garuda has a BUSINESS class fare, sold direct from Garuda, for only 34,000 Thai baht, plus 9,000 Thai baht in tax, total is 43,000 Thai baht, about $1,075 roundtrip... you can also make free stopovers in Singapore, Jakarta and Bali, as many as you want. But from Bangkok you have to make at least TWO stops to Sydney, and the timing isn't good, so you must overnight at your expense in Singapore or Jakarta on the return. And you get 150% mileage credit with Northwest Worldperks. Not a bad deal... seems their business class is OK, but not spectacular.
