AFAIK.... Ba will be implementing a new hand baggage system in the summer. Details are sketchy but the underlying themes are:

Only one piece (to a specific size.. i.e needs to fit in the gauge ) will be allowed as hand luggage...an extra piece will have to be checked in, otherwise passenger won't be allowed to travel. (Not too sure what the CLUB policy is)

Again from the economy point of view the bag can weigh up to 23kgs. The problem with this is the passenger must be able to lift the luggage above his/her head (in other words the crew will not be attempting to lift the bag into the overhead locker.)
