Wish it was as easy as booking lower then changing but it's not. I'm forced to book the lowest fare/nonrefundable fare in my company, so I can't go and just change it later. Or it would increase the fare. And I work with real agents in my current company. They book my flights and then it goes to another person for validation before it's ticketed.

Even when I worked for one of the biggest companies in this country, we used an online travel manager and that used to always book the lowest airfares too but some of the times I could still get a refundable/changeable ticket at a reasonable airfare. Lately it just seems more difficult to get those types of tickets on the routes I fly.

What's bugging me a lot is that I have to fly at the strangest times more and more on some routes I used to fly out of PIT routinely. And more have been downgraded to the regional jets.

Oh well.
