Flights from N. America to Japan seldom use the polar routes. Possible from ORD or the NYC area, but very rare.

The ones that consistently use them are those from ORD/JFK/EWR/YYZ to HKG/PEK/PVG.

And AA/CO's non-stop to DEL do not use the Polar routes. They fly across very northern Atlantic. Same for TG's JFK-BKK. SQ 21 EWR-SIN sometimes use the Polar Route, but usually over the Atlantic.
