So are BAA going to weigh the bags? If so, they'll have to have a fiendisly complicated table to tell them what each airline allows in each class. Will weighing the bags speed up the process? I hardly think so.

I don't usually travel with more than my permitted amount of cabin bags - and these will be within the permitted dimensions. However, most of the time I probably travel with more than my 9kg allowance. If I really had to, I could probably re-arrange things to get 9kg in each bag, but some days I might have as much as 25kgs. I've never been pulled up on it; indeed, I've never even had my cabin bags weighed. I may about to experience a rude awakening when the changes go through, but if I am travelling F on a 777, I've got a whole overhead bin to myself so what's the problem if I'm a few kgs over in my bags.
