Most of the delays I see are all the people who wait until they are at the x-ray machine before they remove metal objects, take off their coats, etc. The Laptop crowd know how to travel and they rarely hold things up.

The new rules won't make stupid people smarter and won't speed things up.

... and a good number of delays would be gone if BAA deployed appropriate resources -- including more personnel and opening more lanes -- to get us all through faster. (My biggest pet peeve with BAA security as of late is the staff at T2 which seems to increasingly often -- since mid-January -- to open the security screening gate after 5 a.m., the designated opening time there.)
