"Normally they hope to make a swift getaway on arriving at their destination by avoiding having to wait for luggage to be unloaded. But this has created long delays at the X-ray machine conveyor belt during boarding."

Most of the delays I see are all the people who wait until they are at the x-ray machine before they remove metal objects, take off their coats, etc. The Laptop crowd know how to travel and they rarely hold things up.

The new rules won't make stupid people smarter and won't speed things up.
