If you are buying "inexpensive" wine, the cost is quite high, but if you are bringing home a case of expensive winer, it's not that costly IIRC since you are mostly paying taxes based on VOLUME not price (other than GST/PST).

If you being more than a case, you also have to pay the local liquor board markup, which drives the price to a ridiculous level.
