Its not a direct flight. my particular flight comes in from BOS (flight AA2003) then connects back to EWR (flight AA1488).

I asked the front desk people and they didn't know of any other way besides asking them. Any pilots or enthusiats on the boards that may know how to get a tail number off a flight number.
