Hilton Garden Inn Arlington VA Courthouse Plaza - Report

I recently stayed at the HGI in Arlington, VA from March 28 - April 1st. Overall it was a decent place for an HGI. I paid $170/nite

I called the day before and asked the day of to see if any upgrades were available (am HH Gold) but turns out the place was sold out. Apparently people DO come to see the Cherry Blossom Festival! I got an end room on the 7th floor (I'm guessing 8th floor is where the suites are). Not bad, and much better than the 2nd, 4th, and 5th floor rooms the online checkin gave me. I originally only got 4 breakfast coupons, but the front desk immediately noticed I only had 4 and gave me another 4 for my lady friend. I also got a coupon for 2 free waters (not $5) from the Pantry.

The room was decent. Facing the street, not much of a view from any room I think. At least I wasn't facing the apartment building on the other side. Shower head is WAY too high. The flow was also very low and it was hard to actually wash yourself. The free internet was a definite plus...good for day-ahead planning and such. Free printing was also nice for airline online-checkin and other things. Fridge/microwave also nice.

The restaurant was decent. I never paid an extra $2 to get the hot buffet breakfast, just did the continental. It was OK, not great, not bad.

All in all, it was a good place and I would stay there again.
