Will it actually be free? There aren't very many free WiFi hotspots abroad -- for example, in Hong Kong there are basically NONE. You'll need to subscribe to PCCW's wifi and get access at Starbucks.
Rather than spending $350 on a VOIP phone, why not just get an unlocked GSM phone for about $100-$150 and use a local sim card?
