This particular post is about a movie dealing with contests/sweepstakes and not information about entering a particular contest/sweepstake. To me the strength of Flyer Talk is the sharing of all types of information. If you are reading this you are someone interested in the subject matter.

Our friends who are movie buffs came up with this movie for us, since we have been entering contests/sweepstakes for years. We watched it last night and I thought some of you in this forum might enjoy it. We got the DVD version from our local Hollywood Video store.

The movie is called “The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio.” The back cover states, “Anything is possible with a little laughter and a lot of heart in this incredible true story of an extraordinary woman who raised ten kids on 25 words or less. Academy award nominee Julianne Morre stars as Evelyn Ryan, a devoted housewife and mother, who uses her knack for words to win thousands of dollars in “jingle contests” to keep her family together. Also starring Academy Award nominee Woody Harrelson, this witty and engaging comedy celebrates the power of a winning spirit.”

It’s rated PG-13 reflecting some of the tough times suffered by the family.
The movie is a treat to watch as you witness the various members of the family winning this and that prize. Might be a little corny, but the wife and I enjoyed it quite a bit. If you’re a contest/sweepstakes person to start with I would give this movie a big thumbs up for your viewing.
