The only flight crew to or from LGW I've ever found to be even a bit lacking in friendliness and attention was a "New York based" crew we had on a flight LGW-CVG last spring. But when I started feeling quite ill (I'd been sick a few days before but thought I was over it), they couldn't have been better.

CVG is a pleasanter airport to connect through on mainline Delta, imo, less crowded and easier to change planes (unless you're connecting to a torture jet, but I can't see that that's applicable here). I also find the GAs friendlier and more accomodating than some I've run into in ATL.

The only exception to this is flying into CVG on an international flight, which I really dislike. Part of the problem is the idiotic security set-up, but another part of the problem is that CVG really doesn't get that many international flights, so they're not very efficient, and much too anal about it - sort of like crossing the US-Canadian border at Emerson/Pembina. They have nothing to do for long hours, so when you show up, they're going to make the most of it. And of course a lot of the flights arrive close together - it can be awful, and awfully slow for no reason at all.

Still, if you're connecting to another flight, it won't be that different from ATL. We usually o/d out of CVG internationally, and it's simply infuriating to have to re-clear security before we can leave the airport.

The B/E lounge in CVG is the one at B12 (previously a CRC, and before that I believe it was the FC International lounge).
