This is outside my area of practice, but my understanding is that the Full Faith and Credit clause of the Constitution requires all states to recognize a valid marriage. As for getting married while drunk, there may be some consent requirement. However, this is not something that should be taken lightly with decisions based on hearsay. If the marriage is valid and your friend doesn't wish to be married, there can be all sorts of unpleasant consequences down the road if it's not handled correctly. Your friend should really consult a family law lawyer and get a dispositive opinion.
