I have visited Vienna twice, Krakow probably five times and in my eyes Krakow wins hands down. Cost is less, food is better, people are nicer and the countryside unbelievable. In fact I just got back from spending one week in Krakow three weeks ago and even though it was cold but sunny I had a great time.
As for the Hotel Praha, hands down a good hotel although my next trip to Krakow and Prague which will be in July, I will be staying at the Crown Plaza in Prague which is in an old Communist Goverment building but great. Now if you want a great inexpensive Pension try the Hotel Excellent which is on a trolley route and they treat you wonderfully there.
But again, Krakow is my city in Eastern Europe although I do love Budapest also.
