I was told by a Qantas staffer last year that QF's First Class seat design for the A380 has been given the constraint that they also be able to be installed (with minimal modification) in the 744 front cabin, with at least 12 seats in the available space. At that time, the people tasked with the design were struggling to meet this design criteria, but expected to overcome the problems in plenty of time finalise the design.
