The bar at Hotel Du Vin isn't too bad as well, they do a fine range of champagne and cigars. Pop in to the Old Joint Stock pub on your way there for a couple of decent pints of mans ale.
The Old Joint Stock would have been my first choice for a straight over 35's night out, although if you want Man Ale, then the Anchor in Digbeth is a must.
My last couple of experiences of the Hotel Du Vin bar were not very good, but generally it's OK.
