I've actually come to use DF as a way to stock the "kitchen" of wherever I'm headed, and then maybe get something local on the way back.

Case in point: On the way to a week long trip to SJD, I picked up some Seagram's 7, Finlandia Vodka and Jack Daniels at ATL DF because my hotel wasn't all inclusive - picked up soda locally and was good to go for under $30. On the way back from ACA recently, I picked up some Licor 43, which I love but can't find in the states anywhere. Wasn't the best deal ($23/ltr) but considering I can't find it at home and I live in a state that doesn't allow alcohol shipments...
