Is UA Contemplating New Routes To Russia and/or Other Former Soviet Destinations?

From WHQ:

United last week met with 16 delegates from various
airports in Eurasia -- including those in Russia,
Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Moldova, Georgia
and Armenia -- as part of the Special American
Business Internship Training (SABIT) Program. The
SABIT program helps develop relationships between
U.S. companies and Eurasian business leaders through
U.S.-led industry-specific training programs.

Several divisions throughout United, including,
International and Regulatory Affairs; Systems
Control; Customer Service Planning and Support; Ramp
Operations Planning; and Ramp Service, hosted the
group at World Headquarters (WHQ) and O'Hare
International Airport on March 22 and 23. At WHQ,
the group toured OPB and met with employees to learn
about United's operations, products and services.
At O'Hare, the group toured the baggage sort room,
United's de-icing garage and the fuel facility.

"This program gives United the opportunity to
further develop our relationships with airports in
Russia and neighboring countries," says Dmitri
Karimov, manager-Industry and Regulatory Affairs.
"These relationships help us ensure that airports in
that part of the world meet the needs of our
customers and our business requirements, and that
United, in turn, understands their limitations and
challenges."
