Duty free/cheap is an oxymoron. Last month I was through Singapore where I was looking to buy some Champagne(the same experience in HKG and BKK). I know the price of Champagne well in Japan for the brands I usually buy. When I looked at the wine boutique the prices were almost 50% higher that at my Costco in Japan

It pays to comparison shop on the internet etc. to find out how much the tipple should cost. Buyer beware...........
