I've stayed at and enjoyed both The Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott. JW has larger rooms and bathrooms, more dining options, and a better casino. I prefer R-C's pool area, though it is a bit smaller, to that of JW. If you are interested in boating or lake activities, R-C would be the clear winner. R-C is a bit newer than JW with better bedding. JW is very convenient to dingy downtown, if that is of interest to you. It is also slightly closer to The Strip.
On the whole, I prefer the JW Marriott.
