If you do go to Kouangsi Falls, it may not be clear how to get to the upper pools. I wrote something up about this at http://postconsumerwaste.blogspot.co...alls-laos.html with some photos. It's fun to go swimming there. There are some rudimentary changing facilities.

The restaurants in Luang Prabang I enjoyed most were on the Mekong river side--cheapo with dirt floors.
