It's like going to Washington and staying at Tyson's Corner. Just office blocks and shopping malls.

I'd agree there is far less appeal for a tourist to stay in Canary Wharf as opposed to other parts of London where there is so much history. We find it an excellent place for our office so that makes it the place to stay when I'm there on business since I don't have time for tea with the Queen anyway. Trying to go to the office each day while staying someplace other than Canary Wharf is a huge waste of time and money trying to traverse the city to get there. It's just too bad there are so few hotels, IMHO, in other parts of London to draw one to them. It just amazes me that with the crazy rack rates they charge they can't seem to get it together on hotels. BTW I stay at the Ritz if I do stay other than Canary Wharf and pay through the nose but at least the service is wonderful. The beds and pillows are also quite nice!
