freakflyer,
No offense, but I would have had to be on Mars not to know that those are the weapons that the 9/11/01 hijackers used. The critical difference is that flight crews have been instructed not to cooperate with hijackers now. Without the cooperation that occurred on 9/11/01, those hijackings would not have been successful. Agree?

During recurrent training we were given some information that I was unaware of. Apparently the F/A's were the first persons killed on board the aircraft. It's believed that the terrorists used the box cutters to kill the flight crew almost immediately. So whether or not we were trained to submit and comply with hijackers makes little difference. It doesn't appear that we ever had the opportunity to use our training in these instances. Those box cutters were put to quick use. Speaking as a Flight Attendant, I would prefer they catch these items before they even get on board the aircraft. It doesn't matter to me, if I'm dead on the floor of the galley, whether the customers rise up and take back the aircraft. I hope they would but it doesn't bring me back from the dead.
