Due to my company policy, I could only fly on Economy class. But, I prefer to travel on Singapore Airlines (patriot). Since I am based in US/Taiwan, I fly transpacific or transatlantic almost every week, mostly on SQ or Star Alliance if possible.
Last year before Christmas, I gave SQ Krisflyer a call to ask for PPS status due to my frequent travel pattern. However, during that time, they refused to upgrade me to PPS. I told them that one of the reason I asked is to get PPS benefits on the ground and priority waitlisting. I know it is unfair to those who fly on F/C class but I have flown almost 250K EQM (Elite Qualifying Miles) last year before Christmas. If I am flying on C class, I am probably Solitare by now.
Do you know whether SQ will upgrade the PPS status (in the profile) for me? I really hope so because I am considering to change to UA 1K program/ Air France & KLM which have better benefits (100% Bonus Miles, Free Upgrades).
I hope you guys could help me to answer that...
Thanks.
Whether SQ is willing to give you PPS status is only up to them, and I doubt that anyone here will be able to tell you conclusively whether they will or not grant it to you. The rules for attaining PPS status are clear, and it looks like you haven't fulfilled the official requirement. Yes,
if you were flying C class, you might be solitaire by now, but you actually
weren't flying C class. Not being facetious, just making the point that according to the rules you aren't PPS, and it is only up to SQ to decide whether to make an exception for you.
