Once we get used to the advertising it will not be as bad as we think. Remember when television networks started putting their logo in the corner of the screen. The logo was distracting and I was outraged that a portion of the screen was covered. Now, who cares. In fact it is easy to tell which channel I am watching.

How about advertising on the boards around a hockey rink. that was controversial when it started, now standard for the NHL. If I see a replay of an old game, the plain white boards just don't look right.
