I'm planning on flying out to from LAX to BOS for the weekend of 4/21. In pricing the flights, I've gotten a bit of sticker shock (just cashed in all my miles), with nothing under $400 with the schedule I need (redeye night of 4/20 or early morning flight 4/21, back late sunday).

Pricing later weekends and earlier weekends on AA.com show at least $100 lower for equivalent flights. Anyone know what gives? The marathon and easter are the weekend before. Any ideas on why, and whether the prices should drop?
Try a late afternoon Thursday flight. I was looking at LAX-NYC that same weekend, and noticed that the 3:15p and 4:15p to JFK are $200 cheaper than the redeyes.

My only theory is that since the Passover holiday ends at sundown on the 20th, there's a statistically significant uptick in redeye travel as those who strictly observe the holiday (and its travel restrictions) head home that night.
