DLnewbie, sounds like you are from the DC/Baltimore area. I am too and have never had a problem upgrading from BWI. You will have the most problems with DCA (too much ATL traffic) IAD upgrade opportunities are somewhere between DCA and BWI. Remember, there are no upgrades on the Shuttle, but the free Sammys make up for it.
