My son and I are on one PNR for our Star Alliance award. It looks like we have to change one of our return dates and keeping the other person's itin. Is it possible to separate us into two PNRs?

My first call to UA is less than encouraging, the agent suggest that I cancel the itin and rebook two of us separately.
