You asked whether MU would slap its code on AA's new flight and I said probably. But, now I understand that you intended to ask about AA codesharing with MU ex-PVG. I think the answer is, "yes," given AA's recent print ads. I also think this action provided some impetus for UA strike its FM codeshare deal now (as opposed to +/- 6 months).
That said, neither one of these arrangements is likely to change my flying patterns a whole lot (i.e. I wouldn't dream of treking out to PVG and paying through the nose just to ride MU to DLC for ~300 AA miles).
On the other hand, I did pay an extra Y100 to fly CA back down to SHA this Sunday for research purposes (i.e. I will attempt to claim a very small number of UA miles).
