Called refunds department, was put through immediately to an agent (UK not India) who told me a credit note would be issued as soon as I sent in the tickets and the relevant medical certificate.

just had a very similiar experience with BA - we had a short trip to a wedding in Italy booked for October - herself had a scan yesterday and the due date given was the end of September. BA's reply was identical. ^
