Obviously not one designed to get you from point A to B.
The Viking Line has the added experience of death and rape. (Just browse recent news headlines and you will see where I am coming from.)
Bottom line: if you have the option to fly for $75/ head it's the best $75 you will ever spend.
I just priced Silja Line for a random R/T in a middle class (140 sq. ft.) cabin for 2 adults and it came up at SEK 4680. That's about USD 600......... You can fly for $300. Plus you have to spend a couple of thousand on food and booze so you don't feel like you missed the experience.

You talking about "common knowledge" have you ever been on board?
At least you have never been on these ferries on weeknights. It usually is really dead. You barely see people after midnight. Some weekend departures have more action on board.
Another thing is that it seems that eating and staying in hotel in Helsinki in free.
That is a trip I would like to do.
By the way, Amorella is Viking Line, not Silja Line ferry.
Please keep facts clear when mocking finns.
