Yes... and how disappointing... what a missed opportunity...
1) seems to be focussed on their internet booking system - nothing more generally about the service to frequent flyers
2) riddled with english errors - would have taken a native speaker 10mins to correct. But they are too arrogant to believe for a moment that it matters to get someone else's language correct. (Besides they are Taiwanese so probably they can write better English than anyone else.)
3) Notice the "bean counter" obsession with making sure you cover the cost of "ROC taxes", other taxes etc. Surely they could cover this (by grossing up the value of the prize or whatever... and I wonder if these taxes are really applicable - eg if you're in Paris, wouldnt the tickets be awarded through the paris office..)
4) Again, more bean counter concerns. Just 3 free tickets for this promotion - but they are concerned that the "luck" winner doesn't use them in a blackout period!
Some of the questions are posed in such a way that I can't really get across the message that I would like to let them know - and there is no free text "any other comments" section.
Basic point to point journey's usually seem OK. But:
1) cannot book multi-destination/stopover journeys (eg LHR to SGN via TPE)
2) many fares just seem "standard" outrageously expensive, eg starting from London
3) availability sometimes seems non-existent when it should be OK (eg cannot book a return ticket, but can book two singles for the same dates or vice-versa
4)"reward" tickets combining airmiles and cash are difficult to understand and misleadingly described.
5) Lots of annoying interface problems - eg where flights are not available on particular dates, you have to type in all the details again...
I feel EVA are not really serious about this online thing. I wonder if its a cultural. Some of my Taiwanese friends refer to buying flights online - but what they mean is getting a price from an agents website and then phoning them directly to have a paper ticket delivered - which they then pay for in cash. Or go to a bank, pay over the counter into the agents bank.
