I've noticed that the QUPs between BOS and LAX have consistently been over $1300 since about October 2005. It doesn't appear as though UA is offering a 7-day advance QUP BOS-LAX-BOS anymore, which they did last year--that was the QUP fare (I believe fare basis was QUAUPN7) that was closer to $1000 roundtrip. The $1300 price point for a QUP is also where AA is at, so I don't imagine that UA will reduce QUP fares in this market without some competitive pressure.

Never been offered a paid upgrade on this route, but that's because I've generally been upgraded prior to check-in on all occasions.
