Is NW making an exception to the RoachChoice policy for full-fare pax who pay these exorbitant prices? No. Full-fare pax will still get nickel-and-dimed for the good seat.
Not only do they get nickel-and-dimed, but NW proudly proclaims this is a major "plus" of the program--that people who pay high dollars for last-minute tickets will be ecstatic to have 'choice' seats available for $15 a segment.
I paid $1,230.19 to DL last week for a last-minute ticket to attend my grandfather's funeral. If I'd had to add $60 to secure 'choice' seats on the four flights on top of what I was already shelling out, "happy" certainly would not be the word to describe my feelings. I was UG'd on three of the four flights, and on the fourth, I sat in an exit row aisle seat for "free"!
