I think it is funny that the world has adopted the branding associated with the GSM group, it being a standards and integration body and not a technical standard. Based on TDMA technology which I THINK was developed by motorola in the 60's?

But we as users put this brand from a governing body in the same protocol group as CDMA, AMPS, TDMA etc. Similar thing is true for PCS. Funny, like tivo'ing.
