While maybe not approaching the fare at the Ahwahnee in Yosemite, the restaurant at El Tovar is quite good, especially compared to the cafeteria fare that predominates in Grand Canyon Village. Dinner can be pretty pricey, but lunch is more reasonable. Breakfast is also available. Service tends to be a lot friendlier in the shoulder and off-season. Whenever you go, though, you can't beat the views.
