Air Canada Jazz mechanics have finally drawn the powerful support of their union in a three-year-old battle with the airline over working conditions.

A top official with the Canadian Auto Workers said yesterday the union is now calling on Air Canada Jazz to respond to nagging complaints from mechanics about alleged harassment, racial discrimination and a controversial new electronic time-card system that triggered a mini revolt by about 20 unionized employees last week.
