I just found a relative 'bargain' of an M fare from LGA to JNB on the new service starting in December - roundtrip including all taxes and fees came to $1,676 - not bad for NYC-JNB (some JFK-Europe M fares are even higher than that). And total MQMs earned are a whopping 27,602 miles - enough for someone to qualify for SM, and 1/3 of the way to PM! I put in dates for the outbound on the inaugural flight (Dec 4) as the fare is not valid for the peak holiday season (7 day min; 2months max stay; 7 day advance purchase).
