Anyone managed to upgrade from J to F using miles? The reason I ask is that F on CX is (obviously) pretty small - so, presume CX would try and hold out for paying pax (which they seem to have no dearth of... ). Tried twice - one with about a week to go before the flight, the other about a month to go - both times was told full up, so not possible
So, just wanted to get any other experiences - especially positive ones.. ...so at least there's some hope....

Might be a silly question - as a last resort, could one ask at check-in if one could upgrade using miles.....
