Just got off the phone with MP CS. I've got two entire tickets that are ineligible for the promotion.

I knew that the SAN-DEN-MCI wouldn't qualify since I am transiting through DEN. I figured that the MCI-DEN and DEN-SAN would qualify since there is a stopover in DEN. WRONG! They look at the round trip where the starting point or ending point is in DEN. If I had booked SAN-DEN DEN-SAN and DEN-MCI and MCI-DEN I would get 6 credits. As I booked it = ZERO.

8 MAR PDX-LAX-SAN

Same as #1 - this is viewed as transit through DEN, not a stopping or ending point. I figured this was a 4 credit itin. As I booked it = ZERO. I deliberately stopped in PDX instead of EUG for the extra credit.

I said that the intent of this program is to encourage UA customers to stay on UA. I said that convoluted rules like this encourage me to book on another airline.

I will easily reach 32 credits at least once, probably twice. It's frustrating when you think you're doing something the right way, but find out you didn't
