Labour Woes at Air Canada Jazz

TORONTO - If you're taking an Air Canada Jazz flight over the next few days, you may be facing some delays because of a labour dispute.

The company has moved to an electronic time card system, to cut down on pay cheating among co-workers. The C.A.W., which represents the workers, says the move is perfectly justified. But some mechanics say, they're not being treated like professionals and face constant abuse from the company.

That's why more than 20 of them walked off the job illegally last week. They now face disciplinary hearings Monday and Tuesday, and they say that could lead to a work-to-rule campaign which would slow down the schedule.

The mechanics are also talking about leaving the C.A.W.


How ironic that what comes from a small group of malcontents comes the 'threat' to exit the CAW for telling them the truth! I know my organization won't take them that's for sure...
