I took a voluntary bump on the redeye sfo-dfw sat morn and as it was a mileage run to phl and there was no way that I could make my return flights they agreed to change my return to sun instead of sat.

They did need a lot of volunteers and it is possible that they might not have did it if they had enough volunteers whom they did not have to make extensive changes for. YMMV
