It smacks of incompetence to me, and of the airline's general policy of voicing a concern for customers without actually doing anything about it. So right at the beginning of the on-line experience I'm told my decision to use the operating system and browser I do is a poor one, and I'm requested to fire up the inept, unstable, non-compliant, and slow-to-load IE instead.
Mac kit doesn't cost double other kit, and unlike Windows machines it actually works. Furthermore, despite the website's alienating message, I've always found myself able to book tickets without any problem.
As I said, this isn't policy, it's incompetence.
My powermac, and recently purchased MacBook Pro easily cost double what a similar windows box would cost...not that it really matters. Where do you buy your macs? :-)
