Agreed. This problem of Gold not confirmed will also happen if in the course of booking, you switch from your default credit card and use another one in your profile. I use a corporate card and a personal card for my rentals. Depending on the circumstance I must update the profile before beginning the booking, otherwise I get the "gold not confirmed" message.

The first rental after you sign up fror Hertz gold is not eligible for all the Gold service treatment
